The college is run by Ballarpur Sewa Samiti, Ballarpur which was established in 1973 by honorable Shri. Jainnuddin Zaweri, Ex-MLC (Maharashtra State), Member of All India Haj Committee, Mumbai and Ex-President MC, Ballarpur. It has the Minority status (Religious and Linguistic) of Maharashtra Government. Today it is running various institutions (Colleges, Junior College, Polytechnique, Schools, Convents and ITI) in Chandrapur and Gadchiroli District.
Desaiganj (Wadsa) is situated in Gadchiroli district which is still considered as a backward, tribal and naxal affected area. For the upliftment of the tribal students and their future Hon. Jainuddin Zaweri took decision to start the degree college at this place. As a result the Mohsinbhai Zaweri Mahavidyalaya gets started from 2008.

improvement of rural, backward, tribal, minority and poor students of
this area in such a disciplined way that they become competent enough
to fight against future challenges.
The institute always works in the direction to make all-round personality development of the student to involve the students with the society for the conservation of human values. The institute makes the student aware about environment. Simultaneously the emphasis of institution on the overall development of students to reveal their hidden potential.
